The founding members' shared background dates back to their high school years, where they participated in mathematics competitions together. After pursuing separate careers in academia and finance, they established QI Investment together, combining their shared passion for financial markets and quantitative problem-solving.

Dr. Axel Stahmer
Managing Partner | Founder
Axel Stahmer began his career on J.P. Morgan's equity derivatives desk in London before pursuing a PhD at ESMT, where he earned a research fellowship at Harvard. Prior to launching QI Investment, he was among the first team members of newly created multi-billion dollar PE firm Castik Capital. At QI, he combines his passion for analyzing global markets through a quantitative lens with his drive for businesses building in the modern world of finance.
Dr. Christoph Wagner
Managing Partner | Founder
Christoph Wagner remained in academia after his master's degree, publishing top-tier research during his PhD with stints at the University of Bonn and University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a Studienstiftung Scholar, he joined a Big Four expert team specializing in quantitative financial markets modeling and holds patents from developing data infrastructure at a tech company. At QI, he brings quantitative models to life to solve the complex puzzles of modern financial markets.
